More Music Trivia

Since I am posting all of my favorite things I began think about what I would put for my 25 favorite albums (CDs) of all time and I made this decision. ALL of my lists have been in NO PARTICULAR ORDER but when it came to this one particular album I decided that it IS going to be #1 on my list AND actually belong in that slot. It is hands down my favorite of all time and I have always been borderline obsessed with it so it will be placed in its proper slot at #1.

Anyway, before I gave you the list I want you to think about what that #1 actually is so I am going to give you a quote from it and see if you can come up with the songs name, the artists name and finally the name of the album.

Before I give the quote I seriously ask with all due respect that ram2600, "G", Jonathan Mardukas, and my brother-in-law PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER THIS.... I know as a fact that all of you know the answer (and like the album as well). I just want to see if anyone else can come up with the answer.

Quote:
"The System we learn says we're equal under law,
But the streets are reality. The weak and poor will fall.
Let's tip the power balance and tear down their crown.
Educate the masses. We'll burn the White House down."

Have fun..I will post my favorite album list after someone answers the question correctly.

I'm going to guess Green Day.

Of course, I am probably wrong. The last album (CD - my kid always says, "WHAT is an album!") I know "everything" about is, um, er... Purple Rain, I think. What was that, 1984??? (But Prince does rock!)

Purple Rain will make my list, but it is neither Prince nor Green Day.

a hint... the true SEQUEL to this album is due out April 4th this year (the original came out in the 80's)

I was going to say Green Day too.Other than that the only music I heard in the 80s were Christian "rock" or hip hop bands - and Madonna, natch.

...may be time to let ram2600, G/the Duke or the Bro in law answer since the rest clearly are missing out on one of the greatest albums ever recorded.

Death Angel with a gun.. ("G" I'm assuming, or Mardukas) I wanna let this ride a little bit longer. Your name is even a good hint, hell I will give another hint; they are a metal band from Seattle (not Nirvana, Pearl Jam or Soundarden)

The album also is a linear story (a metal opera if you like to call it) its sequel ??? ???: 2 comes out April 4th and the original was 1988

It's Queenryche: Operation Mindcrime. All you have to do is Google the first line....or maybe that's cheating? Sorry if it is but I don't think anyone will get it at this point. :) I certainly didn't know it!
