Aces and Eights

Last night I decided to join my brother, some of his cop buddies and some nighbors for a night of some Texas Hold'em poker. Now I would like to say that I kicked ass but ummm no, no I did not. All in all it was way fun because sitting in a room with this group of guys was hilarious. Besides the fun stories they have about work these were without a doubt the craziest bastards I ever had the pleasure to play poker with... I mean these nutjobs were going "ALL IN" on the first hand without even seeing their hole cards.... insane. I know that since it was a friendly game we were just having fun so the ludicrous betting seemed appropriate even if it was'nt the smartest thing to do. In four rounds of play I did manage to finish in third place in one of those rounds and that made me happy. One of the hands in that round I managed to bankrupt two players at the same time.. not bad for a pocket that included a 6 and a Queen. In that same round I bankrupted another player with nothing.... a pocket 2 and 3 off-suit, a ballsy move by me but I had enough chips to bluff one of "New York's Finest" out of the round and damn did that feel good. All in all it was a good time and I enjoyed it, even if I lost a few bucks its all in the name of a good time, besides I must have made an impression with my brothers buddies because they were offering to fund me and didn't seem to want me to leave the game... hell I guess my totally awesome personality was recognized and they simply felt honored to hang with the Captain.
