Day 2

This is my second full day without smoking and I am already going NUTS. This freakin quitting stuff has got to work because I have smoked for the better part of 15 years (2 and 1/2 year period of almost quitting) and its gotta come to an end. Since I have not been smoking I have been chewing gum... and lots of it. I need all the gum I can get and since Christmas is around the corner my wishlist includes only one item, spearmint flavored Orbit gum. I can't say enough how much it has helped so far so all of you Santas out there get on that okay.
Wish me luck for day three tomorrow.

We have that same flavor of gum at home. It doesn't taste too bad after about a minute or so. Dave chews it mostly b/c he doesn't mind the first iniital taste of it.

I keep stock of the orange-flavored ones, and love chewing it all the time. If you are an orange fan, then this would be the flavor for you. It would make you want more gum and less cigarettes. Problem solved, lol.

I wish you all the best in trying to quit, and hope this is permanent. You don't want to have black lungs do ya??? You're too young to be unhealthy!

Good stuff Tony. Your body and lungs will thank you for the increased lung capacity you're giving it, now that you're kicking the habit.

While I don't envy the addictive nature of smoking, I envy your resolve. Don't falter, keep strong with it, and give it time. The cravings will be less and less as time goes on. At some point, cigs will smell like shit, and you'll be glad you quit.

Bravo!

Just remember, you only ever have to avoid the FIRST cigarette. (In other words, don't be thinking too far ahead or you'll make yourself nuts.) I quit a long time ago, too, and it is so worth it. It does get easier over time, plus you smell so much better!
