Oh Satan, You Devil

As I mentioned in the past I am totally psyched that hockey is back and tonight I was treatred to the "NEW" NHL in its full glory. One of hockeys new rules is simple- no more ties- and if a game remains tied after overtime the game then goes a shootout. This freakin rule is great, now fans of hockey can be satisfied by seeing a winner in every game giving a sense of fulfillment... and oh by the way, the shootout in my mind is one of the most exciting things to witness in sports.
Tonight my NY Islanders beat the HATED NY Rangers via the shootout. Now as a fan I love when the Isles play the Rangers the games are always the personification of exciting and tonights game was no exception. The game remained tied after overtime and I got to see the first regular season shootout in my life and all I got to say is HOLY SHIT. I was on the edge of my seat and I found myself jumping high in the air when the Islanders goaltender Rick DiPietro made the save on the final shootout attempt (he also played amazing all night) to cement the victory for the Isles. New acquisition Miroslav Satan scored a goal in regulation and he also put the dagger in the Rangers heart by scoring the game winning goal in the shootout. Now we can all apperciate a funny name in sports and I gotta tell you... Satan is a great one (BTW its pronounced: SCHA-TAN). Fun with his name aside, he is a damn good player and a GREAT off-season pick up for the Isles who were in desperate need of a goal scorer and I am very happy to see him playing for my super-dope Islanders.

Maybe tonight more than just DP will show up and they sweep the home and home. I say it's about time they realize the season has begun.
Let's Go Isles!!!

The Isles are nothing more than a road bump for the Flyers drive towards the cup. They should move the Isles to Portland and demolish Nassau.
